Turkcell Selects TeliaSonera IPX to Enable 4G Roaming Across 31 Operators in 29 Countries

Turkcell, the leading communications and technology company in Turkey, with 34.6 million subscribers, has enabled 4G roaming using TelisSonera's IPX-based diameter signaling service. With the latest roaming partnership, Turkcell subscribers can now roam internationally on 4G network across 31 operators in 29 countries. Via the aggrement with TeliaSonera International Carrier (TSIC), international travellers can now enjoy high speed 4G in-bound roaming in Turkey. According to a statement by TeliaSonera, Turkey ranks as the world’s 6th most visited country, attracting over 37 million international tourists every year.

Matthew Jones, Head of Mobile Solutions, TeliaSonera International Carrier
I’m proud that Turkcell selected our IPX-based services and am impressed with how our teams worked together to enable a 4G roaming service for a non-4G network operator. It’s a first for TSIC and Turkcell, an excellent example of innovation and contributes to the notion of ‘anywhereization’ – the demand to share the moment anytime, anywhere, with anyone, on any device.

Elif Yenihan Kaya, Director of Network Planning, Turkcell
While travelling to 4G-enabled countries, our subscribers today can choose to use the high speed 4G services. Turkcell uses TeliaSonera International Carrier’s IPX network to establish secure and high performance 4G roaming services to subscribers in visited networks.
