Ukko Mobile has selected Huawei to commercially launch 4G LTE service in Finland operating on 450MHz spectrum. In what the network solution provider says as the 'world’s first commercial LTE450MHz', the new service covers 'an astonishing 99.9% of the population of Finland and overnight became the network with the best countrywide LTE coverage.' The 450MHz LTE band provides wide coverage and relatively low cost deployment, and is the best solution for wireless bandwidth deployment with large coverage requirements.
As a strategic partner of Ukko Mobile, Huawei provides end-to-end LTE450MHz network solutions, facilitating the migration of CDMA450MHz to LTE450MHz. The deployment also saw the re-using of the legacy network resources like base stations, sites, power, and antennas helping to decrease the network investments. It is said that the deployment of LTE450MHz commercial networks of Ukko Mobile in Finland will lift the curtain on the global LTE450MHz commercial deployment and bring mobile broadband services to more and more people.
