Four leading Operators in Brazil, Mexico and Spain are leveraging Edgeware-Miranda joint multi-screen solution for the delivery of their TV Everywhere services. The solution will enable operators and pay TV operators to offer a wide range of services including TV Everywhere, Video-on-Demand (VOD), network-based catch-up TV and cloud Digital Video Recording (DVR) to their subscribers without having to incur massive network infrastructure investments.
According to Edgeware, a Stockholm-based provider of video delivery solutions who helps operators monetize their video services, the joint solution will see its Edgeware Video Consolidation Platform(VCP) being integrated with Mirada's flagship product, Iris, a solution which provides an intuitive, unified user experience across multiple devices, including set-top boxes (STBs), computers, smartphones and tablets. London-based Mirada provides products and manages services for the delivery of audiovisual digital content on television, mobile and online. Mirada in its joint statement with Edgeware said that its Iris platform offers two innovative and feature rich user interfaces (UIs), Origin UI and Inspire UI, combined with a smart back-office system, Iris Service Delivery Platform (SDP).
The joint solution significantly cuts the cost of delivering TV everywhere services, said both companies. Leveraging Edgeware's single VCP that enables operators to efficiently deliver new and current services at massive scale to all device types without having to manage duplicate, siloed delivery networks, Operators benefit from reductions of at least 50% in their capital expenditures in delivering TV everywhere services. At the same time, Mirada's Iris comes in with an easy to deploy and fast time-to-market solution that helps digital TV operators and broadcasters provide a feature-rich user interface(UI) created according to the real-user behavior and needs apart from providing features such as innovative content discovery, smart content search and a personalized recommendation system with audience metrics, add both companies.
