Telkomsel, the world's sixth largest mobile operator with more than 140 million subscribers and Jasper, a provider of cloud-based IoT service platforms announced an agreement between both companies to introduce IoT/M2M services for Telkomsel's enterprise customers. Both companies said that Indonesian businesses are set to benefit from access to Jasper's IoT service platform as it enables them to roll out their own IoT/M2M services for their customers especially for those in the automation, financial and utilities sectors.

As more operators jump on the IoT/M2M bandwagon, with larger operators leading the way, more partnerships are being forged between the various parties involved in the ecosystem. One of the major players within the Operators' IoT/M2M ecosystem are the providers of cloud-based service platforms whose solutions are critical to enable orchestration between enterprises offering M2M services, the operator's network, enterprise information platforms and third party applications. With enterprises introducing M2M features on their traditional services and/or rolling out new services leveraging on M2M technologies, they will require solutions that bundle connectivity (to and from the edge nodes as well as to and from devices/user interfaces accessing the information from the cloud) and a cloud platform that can collect, store and process information and produce real-time analytics and insights for end-users.

According to both companies, Jasper's IoT service platform will power Telkomsel's M2M Control Center to offer these insights and analytics as well as other capabilities  including mobile service management, real-time support diagnostics, billing and business automation which in turn will allow these enterprises to offer innovative value-added connected services to their clients. Jasper, in a joint statement said that its Jasper Platform has served more than 1,500 companies and it has partnerships with various mobile operator groups worldwide.
