T-Mobile Austria customers can now use VoLTE service if they sign up for the free 'Voice Boost' service in any of the existing or new My Mobile plan and have a VoLTE-enabled smartphone.

The VoLTE service was integrated into the T-Mobile network in close cooperation with Samsung. The first Samsung devices with full functionality are the Galaxy S8 and S8 +. Apple devices are supported as of iPhone 6. Other manufacturers and equipment will follow later this year.

The introduction of VoLTE is part of T-Mobile's largest investment program. Together with the fees for auctioning frequencies in 2013, T-Mobile has invested around € 1.3 billion in the expansion of its broadband mobile network over the past five years.

This has continuously improved the indoor coverage and increased its capacity with LTE-Advanced, which enables transmission speeds of up to 300Mbps.

In the first quarter of 2018, T-Mobile invested 32.1 million euros in the mobile network. This represents an increase of 98 percent compared to the first quarter of 2017.

The investments were made for capacity expansions of the mobile network as well as for the Austria-wide migration of base stations to "SingleRAN", which significantly improves the performance of the T-Mobile network.
