iBasis, a KPN company recently announced an agreement to sell the iBasis A2P & P2P SMS hubbing business to MessageBird, a communications services company based in Amsterdam. MessageBird builds innovative Telco Communication APIs, enabling developers and companies to communicate via SMS, Voice and Chat on a global scale through their APIs or web interface. 

The transfer of iBasis’ SMS business, including customer and vendor relationships will expand MessageBird’s global reach in the messaging landscape.

The company offers a comprehensive portfolio of voice termination services and data services, including messaging, signaling and roaming, for many of the world’s largest fixed and mobile operators, as well as “over-the-top” and voice-over-broadband service providers.
