T-Mobile has recorded a total net customer additions of 1.3 million in Q2 2017, with 817,000 new postpaid customers, bringing its total customer count to 69.6 million.
At the same time, the postpaid churn was at an all time low of 1.10 percent, down 17 basis points from the prior year.
Considering the rise in its customer base, it is clear that the launch of unlimited plans by its larger rivals Verizon and AT&T, has had little impact on T-Mobile.
The third largest operator in the US posted an impressive $581 million in net income, which is double than the $225 million earned a year earlier, on the back of net revenue of $10.2 billion.
In the Q2 announcement, the operator also provided more details of its plans regarding the deployment of 600MHz sites which it first announced one month back. T-Mobile will deploy its first 600MHz sites in August.
"At least 10MHz covering more than 1.2M square miles of 600 MHz spectrum will be cleared and ready to deploy in 2017, with several compatible devices ready for the 2017 holiday season. We will use a portion of our 600MHz spectrum holdings to deploy America’s first nationwide 5G network in the 2019/2020 time frame," said the Operator.
As part of its network coverage program, T-Mobile said it has completed the deployment of 700 MHz sites in 575 market areas covering 271 million people.

We just delivered a quarter with record service revenue, record-low churn, strong net income and record Adjusted EBITDA - all while leading the industry in postpaid phone growth. On top of that, our network just keeps getting better and faster while the Duopoly's networks seem to be choking after we forced them to go unlimited.
