XL Axiata said that it recorded the highest increase of data traffic during the recent 2019 Presidential Election. Data traffic during that period increased up to 24% compared to normal day traffic.

Throughout the period of the day before and after the election people were also very enthusiastic about uploading photos and videos related to the election. This can be seen from the increase in data in the form of photos and videos uploaded through various digital channels up to 7%.

Because the 2019 Presidential Election day is a holiday and is close to Easter holidays and weekend holidays, so many people choose to go back to home town or take a vacation while participating in voting. This can be seen from the transfer of the customer's location from the initial location area to another area.

The increase in data traffic was mainly driven by the access to various news channels which increased by 190% compared to normal days. Access to social media like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter rose 6% and instant messengers like WhatsApp, Telegram, and others also increased by 30%. Interestingly, access to online games also rose significantly, which was up to 175%. It seems that there are many customers who use Presidential Election holidays to relax by playing games.
