Rivada Networks announced Stephen Bye, CTO of C-Spire and former CTO of Sprint will join the company as Chief Technology Officer. Ireland-based Rivada Networks provides 'Open Access Wireless Market' that the company said allows carriers and others to buy and sell 4G network capacity in real time and in response to market demand.

Stephen has more than 24 years of senior management experience in network strategy, planning, product development and management, network and technology development, network and device engineering, network operations, construction and deployment, field services, systems integration and testing.

At C-Spire, Stephen is responsible for technology planning, network development, network and device engineering, wireless and fiber network deployment, construction and field services as well as the day-to-day operations of the wireless and fiber-to-the-home networks, serving consumer and business customers. Stephen will help coordinate an orderly transfer of duties at C Spire.

Before joining C Spire, Stephen was the CTO for Sprint, where he was responsible for technology and network innovation, strategy, planning and development. Stephen has held executive positions with Cox Communications, AT&T, in Code Wireless, BellSouth International, Optus and Telstra.
