Etisalat has appointed Saleh Abdullah Al Abdooli as its group CEO, managing the company's international operations as well as its local UAE operations. In addition, he will also be the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Al Abdooli who brings over 25 years of experience in the telecommunication sector and holds Master's Degree in Telecommunications Technology from the University of Colorado was the CEO of Etisalat Misr, the group's operation in Egypt. In 2012, he returned to the UAE as CEO of Etisalat UAE - one of the most important operations in the region that was also undergoing intense competition.  

Earlier, Etisalat appointed Hatem Dowidar as acting CEO for the group to take over from Ahmad Julfar who tendered his resignation for personal reasons.
