French operator, Orange has defined a transformation plan for the next five years in its Essentials2020 strategy. The move will also see Orange restructuring its organization that will focus on the groups expansion to Africa, the Middle East and Spain.
At the group level, the change will see, among others the promotion of Thierry Bonhomme, the director of OBS, Orange Business Services, its enterprise business division to become the new deputy CEO of the group. Jérôme Barré will be appointed Senior Executive Vice President in charge of Human Resources, tasked to mobilise all of its employees based on a new, people-oriented digital employer model.
The re-organization will also see Marc Rennard, who led Orange's development in Africa and the Middle East, being appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of customer experience and mobile financial services. Armed with his experience gained rolling-out Orange Money, he will be in charge of mobile financial services, one of the two areas of diversification set out in the strategic plan.
In addition, Orange has appointed Bruno Mettling, who is part of the Group’s transformation team, as the new Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of operations in these regions. In parallel, Jean-Marc Vignolles, who has carried out outstanding work as the head of Orange Spain since 2007, will become his second in command as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of AMEA operations.
Orange also names Laurent Paillassot to take the helm the Orange’s subsidiary in Spain which now represents more than 10% of the Group's revenues.
