Tracy Elizabeth Nolan, a former president of Verizon Wireless for the Illinois/Wisconsin area has been named president and general manager for Sprint in Illinois and Wisconsin. This is a newly created position that will enable Sprint to devote more resources and focus to key cities in the Midwest, including Chicago and Milwaukee. Nolan will be based in Chicago and will direct a team of more than 900 employees spanning sales, customer care, operations, network, finance, legal, IT and marketing. 

Sprint has recently announced plans to start its LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) network upgrade in Chicago with an investment of $45 million, a project it expects to be fully completed by the end of next year. The upgrade is expected to contribute to the creation of local jobs for example, installation works for new cell sites, predicting around 540 new jobs to be available throughout the project tenure.

With Nolan’s appointment as the company’s first local area president, the company will develop market-specific offerings to reflect the unique needs of customers across the consumer and business segments in Illinois and Wisconsin.
