Syniverse yesterday announced that CEO Andrew Davies has been appointed to CTIA’s Board of Directors. This development comes at a critical juncture as the United States prepares for widespread 5G deployment, a transformative leap that promises to redefine communications technology and necessitates thoughtful regulation.

Davies, Syniverse's CEO since March 2021, brings more than two decades of telecom leadership to the board. He previously held CFO positions at Sprint, VEON, Vodafone, and Verizon Wireless, and his extensive experience in international markets will offer a unique perspective in policy discussions aimed at expanding global connectivity. This is particularly useful to CTIA, a U.S. trade association that advocates for policies that support wireless innovation.

Davies joined Syniverse in June 2020, initially serving as the company's Chief Financial and Administrative Officer before being appointed as CEO. He holds an honors degree in mathematics from London’s Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, is an Associate of the Royal College of Science, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

He currently serves as a Board Member on the Florida Chamber of Commerce and is a Wall Street Journal CEO Council member.
