Telefónica Germany and StackFuel are jointly enabling 50 women to train to become data analysts by awarding 50 'Women in Data' scholarships for the StackFuel online program with a total value of 150,000 euros.

StackFuel is funded by the Open Innovation Hub wayra Germany and is Germany's leading provider of certified online training in data literacy, data science and AI. With the scholarship, both companies underline their commitment to equal opportunities and diversity of perspectives

All women aged 18 and over who have a good command of German or English as well as basic knowledge of mathematics and statistics can apply for the “Women in Data” scholarship until June 10, 2021 . After the selection process, the scholarship will start online on July 5, 2021.

With the rapid progress of digitization, huge amounts of data are generated every day. Five billion data points are generated every day in the O2 network alone. These have to be managed in order to drive business and innovation forward. Although tech teams are growing faster and faster, women make up only 15 percent of data workers in Germany, said Telefónica Germany

Nicole Gerhardt , Personnel Director at Telefónica Deutschland/O2
They are an essential building block for long-term job security. Since women are often too little represented in these areas, we want to use the scholarship to encourage them to embark on a new, future-oriented career path and thus actively help shape the digital transformation.

Leo Marose , CEO and co-founder of StackFuel
Data analytics is one of the most sought-after skills of the decade. Experts who can handle data are now in demand in almost all specialist departments. With our interactive online training courses, we impart practical data skills to women and thus contribute directly to more equal opportunities and diversity in the digitization of Germany.
