Nokia has announced the appointment of John Harrington as Head of Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) as of 4 th January 2021. In his new role, John will oversee Nokia’s Customer Experience, business and operations across the rapidly evolving region.

He takes over from Jae Won who has been appointed to lead the Mobile Networksbusiness group for APJ, Greater China and India. John has over 25 years of experience in technical sales, customer relationship management andbusiness development in the telecommunication industry across Japan, Europe and North America. 

 

Prior to this role, John drove the growth of network solution sales as the head of Nokiain Japan for three years before moving to the US and joining the North America leadership teamas Senior Vice President, US Major Accounts, where he led sales for a diverse set of wireless,wireline, cable and regional customers. He has also held various international leadership roles including several years supporting AT&T focused on new advancements in wireless technology. John’s vast international experience and deep understanding of the Nokia business and technology will be invaluable to support Nokia’s continued expansion in the diverse, fast-growing markets of the APJ region. His track record in fostering trusted customer relationships, negotiating complex deals and supporting major Tier 1 service providers gives him the richbusiness and technical experience needed to lead Nokia’s new Customer Experience (CX)organization in APJ. This aligns with Nokia’s wider efforts to support large-scale 5G transformation within the region, driving technological and socio-economic growth.
