VEON, a leading multi-national operator announced the promotion of Sergey Afonin to CEO of Beeline Uzbekistan, effective from 1 March 2019.
Sergey joined the VEON Group in 2016 as Regional Director for Beeline Russia's southern region, where he led a successful retail strategy which resulted in growth in overall market share. Previously, Sergey was Commercial Director at a large FMCG company in Russia.
Sergey replaces Dmitriy Shukov as CEO of Beeline Uzbekistan, following his decision to step down after three years in the role. Under Dmitriy's leadership, Beeline Uzbekistan delivered strong operating performance and the continued growth in smartphone penetration and mobile data.
