Vancouver-based big data startup, PHEMI announced the appointment Rick Makos as a new CEO, positioning the company for continued growth and market expansion.
The Company which has raised $10 million in funding recently, develops big data solutions for enterprises. It produces products to securely collate and analyze large amounts of structured and unstructured information.
As part of the organizations changes, PHEMI’s preceding CEO Dr. Paul Terry takes on the position of Chief Innovation Officer, where he will focus on product vision and provide leadership for the company’s research and development and product management departments.
In his new role as PHEMI CEO, Makos will lead the company’s expansion from healthcare and precision medicine to include the financial services, insurance, and other industries working with sensitive data.
Makos recently served as CEO of Angoss Software, a predictive analytics and data science company, where he led the company’s growth and worked closely with customers, helping to streamline the company’s product strategyand increase profitability.
Previously, Makos served as President of Teradata Canada, working collaboratively with clients to design pioneering enterprise data warehouse and data mining solutions, with the company realizing a 30-fold increase in revenue during his tenure.
