Reliance Jio Infocomm announced during its financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2016 that it
has over 1.5 million trial users on its network and has since extended the services to all LYF phone users under the Jio LYF Preview Offer.
According to the Operator, the average monthly consumption for the trial users is in excess of 26GB/user and is increasing rapidly. Average voice usage per month is over 355 minutes. The test program will be progressively upgraded into commercial operations in coming months.
In the announcement, the Operator said that it is rolling out a state-of-the-art pan India digital services business to offer end-to-end solutions that address the entire value chain across various key domains such as education, healthcare, security, communication, financial services, government-citizen interfaces and entertainment. One such example is that the tie up with a public health centre in Punjab where it is currently testing its e-health services to enable patients to be remotely examined through a video call.
Reliance Jio chairman and managing director, Mukesh D Ambani said that “We have built an entire ecosystem that will allow Indians to live the digital life to the fullest. This transformational ecosystem consists of broadband connectivity, devices and powerful applications and services which will be available to every consumer in India.”
Having pre-launched its 4G Network to its employees late last year, the Operator is fast deploying 4G LTE, FTTH and Wi-Fi acroos all the circles in the country to make high speed broadband access widely available to customers across India.
