Sky, a popular triple-play provider in UK, has entered into a multi-year agreement with Telefónica UK (O2) that will give Sky a wholesale access to 2G, 3G and 4G services. The deal will allow Sky to become a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), thus becoming a Quad-Play provider, offering broadband, telephony, TV as well as now, mobile data and voice services to its customers. This will enable Sky to roll out fully fledged communications and infotainment services under a single package. Leveraging its market-leading capabilities in customer service and innovation, Sky plans to launch its first mobile telephony services to customers in 2016.

According to Sky, within just seven years of its launch, it has grown to become a household brand in the telecommunications and entertainment space , with almost 40% of its customer base taking all three of TV, telephony and broadband. Within this time frame, Sky has also grown organically to become number 2 in the home broadband market, attracting more than  5 million customers with its offer of better choice and value. In addition, Sky has developed Europe’s leading mobile TV service in Sky Go. With 5.7 million registered users, Sky Go meets customers’ growing demand to watch content across multiple devices in and out of the home, offering a choice of up 70 live channels and a wide range of content On Demand, whenever and wherever customers want it.
