Telkomsel, the largest telecom operator in Indonesia on Monday announced that it has invested an additional $300 million in ride-hailing firm Gojek.
With this additional investment, Telkomsel and Gojek will also open up more opportunities for synergy and integration of digital services to provide greater added value to customers, communities and all partners in the business ecosystem of the two companies.
This continued strategic investment action is supported by Telkomsel's shareholders, namely Telkom Indonesia and the Singtel Group. This is based on Telkomsel's vision of seeing this investment as an effort to strengthen its role as a leading digital telco company in developing the company's digital ecosystem in order to bring more appropriate use of digital technology to the society.
Telkomsel and Gojek will complement the synergy that has been established by carrying out more strategic collaborative efforts that are able to accelerate the adoption of a digital lifestyle in society and encourage more business people to take advantage of online platforms.
Previously, after the first investment from Telkomsel to Gojek in November 2020, ecosystem integration was carried out through various collaborative customer-centric service initiatives to encourage strengthening of the digital ecosystem.
