Portuguese Tower Firm OMTEL Adopts Corporate image of Cellnex

Portuguese Tower Firm OMTEL Adopts Corporate image of Cellnex Image Credit: Cellnex

OMTEL, Portugal’s main independent telecommunications infrastructures operator, on Wednesday announced that it is adopting the corporate image of Cellnex, the group that acquired it in January this year for €800 million.

This move by OMTEL towards a new image is aligned with Cellnex’s creative and visual identity at an international level, following the development already seen in all the other countries where it is present – Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, UK and Ireland.

With the acquisition of OMTEL and the recent agreement to acquire 100% of the capital of NOS Towering and its approximately two thousand telecommunications sites for €550 million, Cellnex is taking decisive steps in its strategy of consolidating its international infrastructure portfolio.

Europe’s leading independent telecommunications infrastructure operator intends to expand the offer of services to its customers in Portugal. Indoor coverage solutions, dedicated coverage, fibre optic infrastructure, data centres and edge computing, infrastructures for emergency networks or private networks, and solutions for the smart management of infrastructure and urban services, which can cover a range of products bearing the Cellnex label, such as autonomous driving, rubbish collection or traffic management.

Nuno Carvalhosa, Managing Director of Cellnex Portugal
We will continue our efforts to contribute to developing the telecommunications sector in Portugal, supporting operators in developing their services at this particularly important time as we move towards launching 5G and making it available throughout the country.
