StarHub, M1 to Jointly Bid for 5G Licence in Singapore

The second- and third-largest mobile operators in Singapore, StarHub and M1 have signed an exclusive agreement to cooperate and submit a joint bid for a 5G licence.

The parties are working towards the 17 February 2020 closing date for 5G proposals, said the Operators in a joint media statement.

The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) ealier this month extended the deadline until Feb 17 from the original date of Jan 21 to give operators more time to submit their proposals. IMDA launched a call for proposal last October 2019 to facilitate the roll-out of 5G networks by 2020.
