Vivo, the leading Chinese smartphone maker announced its continued expansion into the Middle East and Africa markets just six months after it entered the region.

Since its announcement in late July 2019 to expand into the region, vivo said has successfully entered 14 markets, expanded its sales channels and brought to consumers various innovative and trendsetting handset options.

By the end of the year, vivo said it will further expand its sales channels and after sales outlets in the Middle East and Africa region, especially in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Nigeria with major names including Amazon-backed Souq, Emaar-backed Noon and Jumia joining the list of retailers selling vivo handsets. In particular, vivo's S1 and V17 Pro handsets are already proving to be popular choices amongst young consumers, which it attributes to its market-entry approach.

The V17 Pro, which features best-in-class design elements from vivo's high-end series, has proven popular amongst younger consumers with the industry's first ever high-quality 32MP Dual Pop-up Front Camera, as well as a powerful 48MP rear AI Quad Camera, said the Company.
