Telia, Ericsson and the KTH Royal Institute of Technology join forces to boost the development of 5G in Sweden.
In a new agreement, Telia and KTH will build an environment at KTH in which 5G networks can be tested and developed. Together with Ericsson as a technology partner, Telia will also work with different industry players to create a uniquely innovative arena.
The idea behind the cooperation is that the expansion of the 5G network will drive the entire digitalization of society. 5G plays a key role in rolling out technologies like, for example, IoT and connected cars, said Telia.
The new cooperation is part of the Digital Demo Stockholm initiative that drives improvements for a smarter city by means of digital solutions.
Mats Lundback, CTO, Telia Sweden
Telia will contribute with technical, cutting-edge competence and solutions to ensure that Swedish academia and industry are in the driver’s seat and are able to take leadership in 5G use case development.
Joakim Sorelius, Head of Development Unit Networks, Ericsson
