In conjunction with recently concluded Digital Transformation World 2022, Ariana Lynn, Senior Editor at The Fast Mode spoke to Andy Walker, Accenture’s global communications and media industry lead on the company's participation at the event and some of their key showcases.

Ariana: Which summit will Accenture be participating in?

Andy: TM Forum’s Digital Transformation World is a place where we can explore the various issues impacting communication service providers (CSPs), like the path forward for engaging small and medium sized businesses (SMBs), the evolution of the metaverse and the opportunity of Open Digital Architecture.

Accenture is a long-standing partner of the TM Forum because we recognize the importance of collaboration, interoperability and standardization in the industry and that it will impact growth for communications players. We participate in many initiatives with TM Forum, recently contributing to several Catalyst programs aimed at developing proof-of-concept solutions in areas like business-to-business service integration, as well as creating competitive advantage with AI-driven offer design and lifecycle management.

Ariana: What will be Accenture's major showcases?

Andy: We have a number of speaking sessions with clients and ecosystem partners at DTW 2022.

Our most prominent focus at the show is on how CSPs can become the trusted growth partners for small and medium sized businesses (SMBs). We issued a point of view at DTW 2022 that found SMBs have been spending more across a range of technologies since emerging from the pandemic. Estimates are that telcos’ digital and IT services for the SMB market could grow by 8.7% from $65 billion in 2021 to about $100 billion in 2026.

Having so many industry players together at the show gives us the opportunity to dig into how CSPs can enable SMB growth through a collaborative ecosystem of cloud, security, infrastructure, collaboration and other solution providers.

We are separately highlighting the importance of Open Digital Architecture (ODA) to deliver business agility and operational efficiency to CSPs, as well as discussing why the metaverse matters for CSPs and how they can prepare and use it internally and with customers.

Ariana: How does it feel to be back physically at DTW 2022? What’s your Copenhagen experience?

Andy: It is great to reconnect as an industry because many in-person events only picked back up this year. We have a long-standing collaboration with TM Forum, where together we engage with the world’s biggest telcos and other industry and ecosystem players to explore how and why CSPs are undergoing new operating models and digital transformations. The show also gives us the opportunity to spend time with clients on and off stage to discuss the burgeoning topics impacting the communications industry.
