In conjunction with the ongoing MWC Barcelona 2022, Tara Neal, Executive Editor of The Fast Mode spoke to Ramy Riad, Vice President Future Messaging at imimobile and Thomas Boesen, SVP Business Development at imimobile on the company's plans and showcases for this year's event.
Tara: What do you think MWC 2022 will be all about? And what are your MWC 2022 plans?
Ramy: There will be a big focus this year on 5G, connectivity and collaboration.
Plans are to meet with partners and customers to showcase the latest and greatest tech, new collaboration and finally meet the teams we have been working with for 2 years in person.
Thomas: The world is digitizing faster than ever before and the main focus of Telcos is to secure and grow their position in the digital economy. I will be spending MWC talking to all the major European MNOs about their plans and how we can support them.
Tara: How has the pandemic impacted the operational and business landscape of the tech segment you are operating in?
Ramy: The pandemic accelerated the shift to digital and introduced an explosion of new digital channels for businesses to communicate with consumers.
Thomas: There has been significant change – accelerated use of digital channels and automated digital engagement. It has also taught us that just pushing consumers from voice/contact center to using digital channels is not the only answer. Consumers expect large enterprises to provide as nimble and advanced digital and automated interactions as digital native businesses like Amazon and Uber have been for over the last few years.
Tara: What emerging trends/technologies have you observed in your tech segment in recent months?
Ramy: One of the biggest trends in our tech segment is meeting your customers where they are, if you are not—then your competitor will.
Supporting a single channel for digital communications may work for some use cases but customers are now talking to businesses from multiple entry points.
New channels are now requiring live agent support so customers don't feel that they are stuck in a conversation.
Thomas: Advanced richer channels working across iOS and Android enable better engagement with customers and also provide a significantly improved understanding of what the consumer wants which enables enterprise companies to enhance their customer experiences. New channels are now requiring live agent support so customers don't feel that they are stuck in a conversation.
