In conjunction with MWC Barcelona 2022 which will be taking place from the 28th of February to the 3rd of March, Tara Neal, Executive Editor of The Fast Mode spoke to Guillermo García Cubero, Founder and CEO of Alumne on the company's plans and showcases for this year's event.
Tara: What do you think MWC 2022 will be all about? And what are your MWC 2022 plans?
Guillermo: MWC is about technology and how it impacts society. We hope to see, in the 2022 edition, how technology is revolutionizing the different sectors in a post-pandemic world.
Tara: How has the pandemic impacted the operational and business landscape of the tech segment you are operating in?
Guillermo: The pandemic has forced enterprises to deploy applications in cloud platforms at an increasingly rapid pace. The need for agility and flexibility has also stressed the operational capacity of many of our customers, based on shifting demand to a more distributed workforce and constraints created by the global supply chain crisis.
Tara: What emerging trends/technologies have you observed in your tech segment in recent months?
Guillermo: We are seeing increased investment in automation not only for network creation but for network operations to address the growing complexity of modern network environments and emergence of CSP/hyperscaler edge/MEC initiatives. Additionally, there are some enterprise companies beginning to shift from multiple cloud deployments to multi-cloud, exploring the need for compliance in those cloud environments, and adopting network automation solutions.
A serial entrepreneur, Guillermo is passionate about technology and artificial intelligence. In 2015 he founded Alumne, one of the most innovative corporate EDTech companies in Spain. Currently, Alumne LMS offers services to more than 250,000 professionals in the world.
