Vach Kompella has over 25 years of experience in the networking field. In 2021 he took his current position as the Vice President of the IP network Division. In 2008, he started the Mobile Gateways program in ION, and is currently Vice President of Engineering for the Mobile Gateways, covering 2G/3G/4G and Wifi technologies. In his previous role, he led MPLS development, from 2001 through 2009. Vach became a Bell Labs Fellow in 2009 for his contributions to MPLS and VPLS. Vach has been a speaker at many conferences, and a regular contributor to standards in the IETF. He was co-chair of the l2vpn Working Group at the IETF for five years. Vach comes to Alcatel-Lucent and Nokia through the acquisition of TiMetra Networks.
