Application developers with ideas to launch innovative apps for wearables can now leverage Unvired's Application Development Platform for Wearables to develop and bring to market apps which can be used on wearables such as smart glasses and smart watches. Unvired, a company that develops mobile applications and mobile application development platforms said that it has also launched its first Glass and Wear applications that integrate with SAP, allowing information from SAP to be brought to these wearables.

Unvired Glass Apps was first developed for industrial use where it facilitated workers to manage and move stocks with real-time updates from SAP using their voice or head control as well as manage purchase orders and receive and send timely updates via its smart watches. Apart from SAP, Unvired also enables integration with other solution providers such as Oracle and SharePoint and enables data from these systems to be accessible on a wide range of connected end devices, including smartphones operating on iOS, Android, Blackberry and Windows as well as Google Glass and Android Wear.

According to Unvired, its solutions provide various deployment options, including on premise, cloud or hybrid offering, based on customers' operations, business processes and information requirements.

"We are seeing an evolution in Mobility from smartphones and tablets to Wearables. Smart glasses like Google Glass and smart watches like Android Wear based ones are beginning to be evaluated by enterprises and consumers alike. Unvired has been working on some experimental Glass projects with SAP customers, and we have built some industry specific Glass and Wear apps. We see many Business Use Cases- Field Service, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, and Utilities present themselves as excellent candidates for use of smart glasses and smart watches. Workers can get notifications, instructions, take pictures, record videos, view digital checklists in environments where hands free input and output of data is critical."
