An Over-the-Air (OTA) technology developer, Redbend, last week announced that KDDI Corporation has adopted Redbend 10 solution for its OTA administration of wireless terminals including smartphones, tablets, automobiles and other connected devices.
Within the Redbend 10 product platform, the Software Update Management set of capabilities enable connected devices to be securely and successfully managed over time, regardless of the network protocol, device platform or operating system. Redbend said that the solution which uses Smart Delta technology to distribute reliable and efficient fail-safe software and firmware updates has adopted OMA DM (Open Mobile Alliance Device Management) specifications to support provisioning, updating, and fault management for mobile phones and tablets.
Redbend claims that it has been keeping more than two billion mobile, automotive and IoT devices continuously relevant with over-the-air software updates, and with virtualization and device management services. The OTA solution enables customers across all geographies to optimize deployment of change, and reliably enhance any connected device — regardless of size and complexity — with ever-increasing value, added Redbend.
