Vedicis, a leading provider of policy and charging enforcement solutions and network analytics, announces that its Data Traffic Visibility solution has been selected by a Tier 1 Indian telecom operator for insights on Internet usage, as part of its effort to manage the surge in data consumption fueled by the introduction of the LTE network as well as the widespread usage of smart devices.

According to Vedicis, its Data Traffic Visibility solution has been selected to complement the MNO's network operation systems, delivering advanced statistics and reports by various areas including subscribers’ group of applications and protocols (including video, VoIP, mail and partner service), bandwidth consumption (subscribers, applications, OTTs), cell ID data/analysis and traffic patterns by device types. Vedicis said that the multi-criteria selection (for example - users, applications, OTTs, location, device) provides a powerful approach for users to obtain in-depth visibility about various attributes that relate to network performance and data consumption patterns, and helps them to understand and anticipate the future usage trends and their impact.

In its statement, Vedicis said that the solution will be helping the MNO in its planning, including enabling it to better anticipate congestion peak times and identify the corresponding locations that require capacity adjustment on top of enabling the MNO's marketing teams to develop enhanced data plans such as toll free services during off-peak hours and applications vouchers in low traffic zones.

Theodore Martin, CEO, Vedicis
Data usage and context are critical information today for MNOs to keep control of subscriber’s experience. We are proud that Vedicis solution was chosen based on key MNO’s requirements for accurate traffic details, technology path to NFV and cost effectiveness.
