3scale and Red Hat, announced a collaboration on a joint solution that combines 3scale API Management Platform and Red Hat JBoss Middleware to deliver a comprehensive application programming interface (API) platform for API development, deployment, and management, designed to accelerate time-to-market for API initiatives and enable enterprises to innovate faster. The collaboration aims to help organizations take advantage of new digital channels to reach customers and succeed in the API economy

The Red Hat JBoss Middleware portfolio provides a platform for the development, integration, and deployment capabilities that are needed to build software services that can be exposed as APIs. 3scale’s API Management Platform complements Red Hat’s middleware tools with features such as access control, analytics, and portals for developers and partners. The 3scale platform integrates with Red Hat’s traditional on-premises middleware portfolio, as well as its cloud-based development tools in JBoss xPaaS Services for OpenShift.

Steven Willmott, CEO, 3scale
3scale is committed to making it easy to get full visibility into, and control over, assets accessed via APIs. Our joint effort with Red Hat strongly supports these efforts, and provides a highly useful and complete suite of complementary tools for service integrators and API developers.

Rob Cardwell, Vice President, Strategic Partnerships and Alliances, Red Hat
APIs have become a vital part of today’s digital economy. As they become ubiquitous, organizations need to look beyond the technology and build an API strategy that fully embraces their business potential. Together, Red Hat and 3scale offer a comprehensive, open, and trusted API platform to help organizations realize that potential.
