RETN last Wednesday announced a significant expansion of its network infrastructure in the Netherlands, further strengthening its position as a premier connectivity provider in the region. The expansion includes the establishment of two new Points of Presence (PoPs) in Rotterdam, bringing the total number of PoPs in the Netherlands to 29.

New Points of Presence (PoPs) in Rotterdam:

NorthC Zestienhoven: Located in the heart of Rotterdam, NorthC Zestienhoven provides an ideal connectivity hub for national and international customers.

Smartdc: This state-of-the-art data center offers advanced infrastructure and connectivity options, operating on 100% renewable energy sources and closely monitored power consumption, lowering the environmental impact and increasing efficiency.

RETN is connecting Amsterdam and Rotterdam with a redundant ring between two of the Netherlands' most vital economic and industrial centers, opening up exciting opportunities for businesses, enterprises, and smaller regional Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in the Rotterdam area. It also positions Rotterdam as an attractive disaster recovery site for businesses looking to ensure business continuity.

Rotterdam, situated along major international subsea cable routes, offers a strategic geographical advantage, ensuring efficient data transfer and minimal latency. The city's state-of-the-art data centers, network facilities, and internet exchange points, along with its economic significance and interconnection opportunities, position it as a key hub for internet connectivity.

Luc Janssen, Managing Director at RETN Netherlands

The addition of these new PoPs in Rotterdam aligns perfectly with our goal of providing enhanced, local connectivity options for our customers. Rotterdam's status as the largest international harbour in the world and its growing business landscape make it a pivotal hub for internet connectivity. We look forward to further strengthening our presence in this dynamic city.
