T-Mobile's Music Freedom program which bundles free music streaming on data plans now includes Apple Music, the latest online streaming service to join 33 other services available on the program including Spotify, Pandora, Rdio, Google Play Music, iHeartRadio, SoundCloud and SiriusXM. T-Mobile's Music Freedom allows its customers to enjoy streamed tunes from various music apps without sacrificing their monthly data allocation, and also to stream at high speed even after they hit their data limit.
According to T-Mobile, Apple Music has become the single most requested new addition to Music Freedom and counts for a full 80% of the requests coming in via Twitter. The third largest operator in the US set out the goal to cover 'ALL music free', and notes that Music Freedom currently covers 95% of all music streamed on mobile in the US.
Music Freedom is included in T-Mobile's Simple Choice plans, which provide a monthly allotment of high-speed data and then limit speeds once customers use it up.
T-Mobile's CEO, John Legere in a blog post noted that Music Freedom has been an enormous hit with customers since it launched. "They now stream over 131 million songs every single day — up an amazing 275 percent from a year ago when we launched Music Freedom," he said.
