EE, this week unveiled new features for its EE TV service that allows users to create a truly personalized TV experience controlled through their phone or tablet. The release is part of EE's strategy to make EE TV as a mobile-first TV services. Mobile-first TV services are on the rise as content providers, digital service providers and communication service providers offer TV content that is created and curated exclusively for consumption on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets, as the usage of these devices for streaming video content continues to surge.

Among the features introduced on EE TV is the new Companion Screen, available via the EE TV app, which gives customers total control of the show that they are watching such as playback and volume controls, as well as a scrolling progress bar. The Companion Screen also makes it more convenient for users to record the programmes that are currently on screen, as well as other shows in the series. Another feature that is being introduced is 'Fetch' which allows users to quickly select what's currently on TV and watch it on their personal device.

The upgrade also sees EE TV offering its customers the new movie on-demand service, MUBI, which offers cult, classic and award-winning films for £4.99 a month.

EE TV received outstanding reviews at launch, however we will continue to use our unrivalled knowledge of mobile behaviour in order to update and enhance the service over time. The new EE TV features take the personalisation capability that all smartphone and tablet owners are familiar with, and incorporates it to create what we believe is the best multi-screen TV service available today.
