China Mobile posted its best-ever quarterly 4G additions during the third quarter, adding roughly 58 million 4G subscribers for a total of 248 million 4G users.

Out of the 58 million, 15 million comprise 4G mobile customers while another 36.65 million additions came from the 4G terminal (wireless broadband) segment which reached 43.73 million subscribers in total in the first 3 quarters of the year. The significant growth in the wireless broadband segment started after the operator received its full FDD LTE licence in February.

Meanwhile, China Mobile's total mobile subscribers reached approximately 194 million as at the end of September, representing a cumulative net increase of 8.72 million for the quarter, of which the number of 3G /4G subscribers reached approximately 137 million, representing a cumulative net addition of 18.18 million.
