Prizes worth $100,000 are up for grabs at the upcoming AT&T Hackathon, AT&T's largest hackathon for next year. The hackathon, held in conjunction with the AT&T Developer Summit, which will take place in Las Vegas from the 3rd to 5th of January 2015 will see coders from all over US competing to build mobile apps together with other developers and industry professionals.
Coders will be using AT&T's powerful suite of APIs and are given two days to build the applications. In addition, coders are also given the opportunity to participate in the fast-pitch competition live on stage during the Developer's Summit keynote address.
The AT&T Developer Summit will focus primarily on the Internet-of-Things and the development of applications in this space. Among the topics expected to take centerstage are the Connected Car, Connected Home, Wearables and App Strategies. IoT and Machine-to-Machine(M2M) applications are becoming commonplace as manufacturers, app developers and service providers roll out IoT platforms that connect to millions of IoT/M2M devices and that enable the delivery of integrated and meaningful real-time information for a wide range of applications on various connections - fixed and mobile. The IoT/M2M applications are critical in increasing the adoption of IoT/M2M technologies across various industries as well as consumer segments such as the Smart Home and theConnected Car.
Interested developers can take advantage of the free registration for the AT&T Developer Summit offered to those who register before the December 1st, after which they will have to pay a fee of USD150. The registration for the hackathon however is free of charge.
