Altice USA, the fourth largest US cable operator with over 4.6 million residential and business customers across 20 states, has selected NAGRA content protection and innovation platform to enable encryption and content security for its HD and 4K offerings.

Specifically, NAGRA will provide Altice with NAGRA CONNECT, a converged CAS/DRM protection solution for broadcast, IPTV, OTT and the connected home, and the MediaLive platform which will allow Altice to deploy new IP- and QAM-based content including 4K Ultra HD.

Through the use of advanced encryption technology, the solution can efficiently coexist within legacy U.S. cable systems while avoiding duplication of precious bandwidth and enabling an open choice of set-top box suppliers, said NAGRA.
