New SPARC SuperCluster T4-4KDDI Korea, mobile communications service provider with 40 million subscribers, has selected Oracle SuperCluster, to help strengthen the authentication system for its mobile core network. With increasing uptake in smartphones, adoption of its “au 4G LTE” next-gen high-speed service and increased demand for data transactions and traffic, KDDI wants to strengthen its authentication system for managing subscriber information and connectivity information for smartphone and mobile phone users.

The Oracle SuperCluster runs on Oracle Solaris and Oracle VM Server for SPARC with Oracle TimesTen In-Memory Database. The SuperCluster, which is part of Oracle Solution Center, is deployed to consolidate, improve system performance, availability and flexible expansion, and resource allocation for the mobile core network authentication system.
