SK Telecom has become a member of 5G Automation Association (5GAA), a global cross-industry association of companies from the telecommunications and automotive industries.

Last month, Vodafone group became the first telco to join the 5GAA alliance that was launched by German carmakers Audi, BMW, and Daimler with mobile telecoms network equipment firms Ericsson, Huawei, Intel, Nokia, and Qualcomm to accelerate development of the infrastructure needed for self-driving cars.
