PT Telkom has partnered with SmartCast to launch MediaHub, a content and advertising solution designed to support the pay TV industry in Indonesia.
Munich-based SmartCast provides managed TV Playout Services, programme traffic scheduling, ad-insertion, localisation, transcoding, multiscreen OTT – everything under one roof.
Operated by TelkomMetra, a subsidiary of Telkom, MediaHub will provide content aggregation and a distribution service, helping the industry face ever-increasing distribution and monetization challenges. MediaHub's playout and Ad-insertion system also allows content to comply with national broadcasting regulations, while distributing it in any format required by pay TV operators. MediaHub's proprietary plug-and-play system makes it a pay TV Ad Network that supports local content developers.
PT Telkom in a statement that mediahub was initiated due to the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission's regulations restricting foreign commercial advertisement on the foreign channels aired on local pay TV channels in Indonesia.
