Polish mobile operator P4 which offers its services under the Play brand announced the launch of LTE-Advanced service, leveraging the quad-band LTE carrier-aggregation technology delivered via new 4G LTE base stations operating on four frequencies, 800MHz, 1800MHz, 2100MHz and 2600 MHz.

The Operator said that it now has more than 1500 '4G LTE ULTRA' base stations operating on these spectrum bands after receiving the 800MHz and 2600 MHz bands in the recent auction. 

The new locations with the 4G LTE ULTRA  network is designed primarily to increase the network capacity, better coverage at low urbanized areas and in towns inside buildings. To leverage the new network, Play customers need compatible devices such as Huawei E5186 or Netgear AC810S and Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, Samsung Galaxy S7, the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge +, HTC 10 and Sony Xperia X Performance.

The operator reports that the current 4G LTE network coverage spans more than 89.2 percent population and of that 73.3 percent has the new LTE carrier aggregation feature.
