Redknee Solutions announced that it has won a multi-million dollar contract to upgrade a major Tier 1 communication service provider (CSP) in Europe to the latest release of the Redknee Unified Application Server, part of Redknee's monetization and subscriber management suite.

Redknee said that the solution is deployed in the CSP's virtualized data center and supports more than 30 million subscribers. Redknee Unified Application Server provides open API's to enable the rapid development of new applications.  The upgrade enhances the solution with IMS, SIP, and Voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) support and improves the customer experience for the enterprise and consumer markets.

According to Redknee, communication service providers are moving quickly to adopt VoLTE, to migrate existing telco services, such as parallel ringing and call hunting, to SIP-based platforms, and to launch new and innovative services. To effectively compete in today's market service providers must create and evolve their services quickly and cost effectively for enterprise and consumer markets, including such services as fleet management, prepaid Voice-over-LTE (VoLTE), and Internet of Things(IoT) applications.

The Redknee Unified Application Server provides a service creation environment (SCE) for a CSP to develop, augment, and roll out new services quickly. The platform enables service providers to generate new revenue sources across enterprise and consumer markets without the need for lengthy development cycles.
