AT&T aims to help wholesale customers move faster with the launch of its Life-cycle Service Ochestration(LSO)-based tool to qualify its Switched Ethernet services across its 21-state footprint.

Automating a previously manual process, service providers can use the tool to check the availability and speed of select Ethernet-based services by address in near real time. It gives one service provider immediate visibility into another service provider’s footprint using the MEF’s LSO model.

LSO's principle capabilities consists of Fulfillment, Control, Performance, Assurance, Usage and Analytics. Its function includes Query product catalog; Order exchange, management, and tracking; Design, provisioning and assignment of resources; Verification, test, and turn-up; and Discovery and reconciliation of service and network resources, topology, and connectivity. It also actively control the elastic behavior of their service instances and collect service performance related information across the network.

The tool combines 2 AT&T Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to meet the needs of our wholesale customers. It’s customizable, allowing wholesale customers to augment it, so they can seamlessly and quickly retrieve the information most relevant to their customers.

Brendan Floyd, vice president of Wholesale Solutions for AT&T
We’re making it as easy as possible for service providers to help their customers move from legacy services to transformative technologies like 100-Gigabit Ethernet and AT&T Switched Ethernet Broadband Port.

Pascal Menezes, Chief Technology Officer, MEF
For service providers, think about what this means for the experience you can deliver to your customers. The on-demand ability to qualify Ethernet service availability and speeds will help you take a more efficient and surgical approach as you migrate your customers to modern-day services while becoming more responsive to their needs.
