Indonesian 4G mobile operator, PT Smartfren Telecom which has early this year launched Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and Video over LTE(ViLTE) service, becoming the first operator in Indonesia to deploy these services, has collaborated with Mitel to develop an App to allow Android phone users enjoy both the services. These services were originally supported natively on selected smartphones such as Andromax R2 and E2.
Both the services brings improved voice quality and fast call setup for its 4G subscribers better than Over-the-Top(OTT) apps such as Skype and Line, said the Operator. To enhance its coverage further, the Operator also plans to introduce the WiFi Calling Service.
Mitel, a global leader in end-to-end solutions for real-time business, cloud and mobile communications, provided the software-only VoLTE/ViLTE solution based on TeamSpirit's Mobile Video Call SDK that allows rapid deployment that is optimized for continuous service innovation and new revenue opportunities.
TeamSpirit said that its Mobile Video Call SDK allows telcos and service providers to develop high quality voice and video over IP products and services even on low density networks in developing countries.
