China Mobile subsidiary, Shanghai Mobile and Nokia showcased an end-to-end VoLTE optimization technology during the recent Mobile World Congress(MWC) in Shanghai. The VoLTE performance optimization platform has already been implemented in Shanghai, enabling end-to-end performance management and assurance across a multi-vendor core and radio network.
The demonstration saw the Operator using real data from its 4G network to demonstrate VoLTE performance management, KPI monitoring, network troubleshooting and service optimization for the demonstration.
The solution uses intelligence analytics which are used to identify issues in real time, such as the setting up of a new mobile device as it joins the network, allowing Shanghai Mobile to resolve the issue and minimize the impact to quality of service, said Nokia. It is based on the Predictive Optimization approach that combines big data collection, storage and processing and sharing capabilities to automatically detect performance issues and allow operators to quickly deploy high quality VoLTE services.
Nokia claims that the deployment allows Shanghai Mobile to quickly expand its VoLTE service from hundreds of pre-commercial users to the more than 700,000 subscribers to its 4G network in Shanghai.
