Ingenu, Semtech and SIGFOX North America are the latest companies to join the IoT M2M Council (IMC) to augment the footprint of low-power, wide-area networks(LP-WAN) and technologies. The IMC, a trade organization currently counts over 18,000 IoT buyers as members and gains 300 new members weekly.

According to IMC, its members are enterprise users and OEMs that deploy IoT solutions, with roughly 30 percent coming from North America, 30 percent from Europe, and the rest spread out globally. Established in 2014, its board member companies include Aeris, AT&T, Deutsche Telekom, Digi International, Inmarsat, Intel, KORE, Nighthawk Control, ORBCOMM, Telecom Italia, Telit, Verizon and Wipro.

Ingenu, a leader in delivering wireless internet connectivity to machines plans to roll out its Machine Network in over 30 US markets by the end of 2016, and to cover most of the country by the end of 2017. Semtech, meanwhile, is a leading supplier of analog and mixed-signal semiconductors and provider of end-to-end solutions for LP-WAN connectivity known as LoRa and the third company, SIGFOX provides low power IoT connectivity to a wide range of applications with over 7 million devices registered on its networks around the world.

The group has recently announced the formation of its Connected Leadership Committee – a focus group of IoT adopters from Fortune 500 companies that will meet quarterly to make their needs known to solutions providers on the IMC board.
