Rovi announced that Japan’s major service provider, KDDI, selected Rovi’s G-Guide HTML to enable entertainment discovery on the new Android TV based IPTV set-top box (STB). Available this month to KDDI’s IPTV subscribers, the new set-top box delivers advanced discovery experiences to users. This is the first product to adopt Rovi G-Guide HTML for IPTV.

Rovi's G-Guide HTML is an HTML5-based interactive program guide to help viewers easily find and record TV programs. It features a sleek picture-in-picture TV guide listing grid designed to showcase rich images, including program and cast photos. G-Guide HTML helps viewers to easily switch from one program to another, while highlighting connections and interrelated associations between actors and programs using Rovi’s robust six-degree discovery capability. With the new predictive search function of Rovi's G-Guide HTML, viewers can find content by simply typing the first few letters of relevant words in their favorite program titles or names of the starring cast.
