Telenor India Completes Major Deployment of 'Zero Footprint' Solution

Telenor India which has over 52.4 million subscribers has deployed 10,000 new sites on Huawei's Blade Site wireless base-station solution across its six circles, making it the first and largest commercial deployment of the solution in the country.

According to Huawei, the Blade site solution supports flexible combinations of Baseband Unit (BBU), Radio Frequency (RF) and power modules and at the same time, provides Global System for Mobile (GSM), Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) and LTE three-mode concurrent operations, delivering operators an effective solution for complex sites. A multi-band multi-RAT wireless base station has become the standard for network construction, and the Huawei Blade Site solution efficiently utilizes the limited site footprint to enhance network capacity, providing users with a better mobile broadband experience and helping Telenor build a more valuable mobile broadband network.
