Openet, a global leader in the supply of real-time BSS (business support systems) and customer engagement systems, has been named “Outstanding OSS/BSS Vendor” at the 2016 Light Reading Leading Lights Awards. Openet was selected from a list of 10 finalists, including Amdocs, Huawei, NetCracker and Redknee, to win the reputable industry prize at the ceremony last night in Austin, Texas.

Openet was awarded the accolade in recognition of the company’s ability to constantly innovate and help set industry trends. Openet has seen significant growth over the past year and has also announced several new tier 1 customer wins including BT Mobile, T-Mobile Austria and Algar Telecom

The award also recognised Openet for its “instrumental” involvement in enabling BT Mobile to meet its target launch date. BT Mobile required flexible technology to react to rapidly changing market conditions. Openet’s virtualized charging solution - deployed as an adjunct billing system - allowed BT Mobile to launch a highly competitive UK market proposition that will help it quickly grow market share.

Openet’s success is a reflection of the significant investment the company has made in virtualization, new charging and policy use cases, and new solutions such as network selection intelligence and real-time offer manager (RTOM). The company’s product range assists service providers in their move to becoming digital service provides, enabling more innovative customer engagement to drive new revenues and increase their share of the consumer digital spend.
